Income – Do You Really Know About it?
Everyday Income
This can be discussed in very antiseptic, abstract and theoretical terms. It can be looked at from a business perspective which gets into revenues less expenses and net profits.
For individuals, this is discussed in terms of wages, salaries and other earnings received. And that is where the focus of this presentation lies.
For individuals, each day is related in some way to money they earn. For example people think about the “work week” where people are engaged in employment. They expect to be paid on “pay day.”
And then people think in terms of weekends or some day or days when they “do not have to work.” It is a break.
Add to this, holidays and vacations which are greatly anticipated, whereas days away from work because of illness are not. This is especially true as long as such interruptions from work are compensated for. In other words, they are benefits as far as compensation goes and there is no reduction in wages or salary because of these interruptions.
What Do You Really Know About It?
Funny thing, for all of the time and energy spent on working for a living, most people don’t really know a thing about money. All they know is that they want more.
I was not taught what I needed to know in school about it. I was never taught anything about how it “operates” or what is behind it. I was simply told that I needed to choose a career and go to school to get the education and training for a job in that career path.
And the vast majority of people are still doing that without question.
Now there is nothing wrong with getting an education. I would encourage everyone to get an education and to never stop learning new things.
But there is an aspect of “the system” that pushes people through it for the purpose of making them workers. Those workers can become “productive” and earn wages or a salary. They are to support themselves and raise a family on that money.
Well look around you. How is that working for most people?
It is those kinds of questions that should concern you. It should make you stop and ask yourself, “What am I doing?”
How much do your really know about income? I suspect what you do know only relates to what you need to do with it. You think in terms of “I need the money to live on,” and that is fine. But there is more to it.
